David’s first High-Performance Driving Event came in 2007, as a gift for purchasing his black 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. He was hooked immediately. In 2018 he began participating in High-Performance Driver Education (HPDE) events, and after a few sessions there was no turning back.
A bucket-list trip to Circuit of the Americas in his 2016 Ford Mustang GT Roush Stage 2 started a climb through the ranks of NASA Time Trials and SCCA Time Trials. Both the car and the driver set new personal bests every season, leading to the 2023 SCCA Texas Region Time Trials Max 2 class championship, with second-place finishes in 2022 and 2024.
Along the way, David met several professional drivers who stopped by HPDE events and spoke at drivers’ meetings. He has had the opportunity to receive driving tips and suggestions from drivers who have competed in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, SRO GT World Challenge and Pirelli GT4 America, Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, the 24H Series, and the SCORE Baja 1000.
